PHASE I ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENTS (ESAs)
A means of determining whether past or current land uses may have caused subsurface contamination, a Phase I ESA includes a property reconnaissance, a review of historical documents and environmental records, and interviews. The work is summarized in technical report to support your financing, property transaction, or general management needs. CXK has experience with hundreds of Phase I ESAs on properties of all types, from apartment buildings to major industrial facilities. Depending on your specific needs or preferences, CXK can perform quick and reliable Phase I ESAs to CSA, ASTM, or Ontario Regulation 153/04 (Brownfield Regulation) standards.
PHASE II ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENTS (ESAs)
A Phase II ESA investigates subsurface contaminant concentrations in soil, groundwater, and/or soil vapour. The process helps establish whether an activity of potential concern has led to actual environmental harm and, if so, assists in determining the extent of the issue. The field work component is typically completed by advancing boreholes with a drill rig. CXK has experience with numerous Phase II ESAs in a wide variety of settings, including interior and busy urban locations with limited access. CXK can leverage its practical and technical experience to get you all the answers you need, safely, reliably and cost-effectively. Depending on your specific project needs, CXK can perform Phase II ESAs for due diligence purpose under CSA Standards, or to Ontario Regulation 153/04 (Brownfield Regulation).
ENVIRONMENTAL REMEDIATION

UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANK (UST) REMOVALS
Need that buried tank decommissioned? CXK can coordinate a licensed environmental contractor to have it properly excavated, cleaned, and taken away from your property. CXK staff will conduct verification soil sampling along the limits of the tank excavation cavity and present the test results in a technical report that facilitates your future financing, property disposition, and/or general management plans. In situations where the UST is found to have leaked into the ground, CXK possesses the experience needed to develop effective options for further mitigation. On completion of the program, the excavation is backfilled with clean imported soil and the ground surface restored to your specifications.
BROWNFIELD REDEVELOPMENTS
